Northern Area
Chatujak Market also known as Weekend Market is one of the largest in the world with everything from delicate porcelain to rattan furniture on sale. II is excellent for handicrafts and clothes.
The huge Central Plaza shopping complex has numerous boutiques, gift shops and department stores.

Sukhumvit Area
Comfortable, air-conditioned shopping centres include Times Square and the World Trade Cent re. These offer an extensive selection of speciality stores. Gaysorn Plaza, Peninsula Plaza and The Promenade are emporiums featuring more up-market shops selling designer clothes and jewellery. Pratunam Market is excellent for inexpensive clothing and fabrics. In the evening, the stretch of Sukhumvit Road near the Ambassador Hotel, has numerous market stalls selling clothing products and handicrafts. There are many tailors to be found in this area.

Central Area,
Mahboonkrong, Siam Square. and Siam Center are all close to each other on Ploenchit Road. These have a variety of outlets selling mid-priced designer clothes, sporting goods, antiques and accessories. Siam Discovery Center will soon open in the same location.
Khao San Road has a vast variety of low- priced goods, such as ready-made clothes, bags and jewellery.

Chao Phraya Area
Silom Road and Silom Complex offer numerous stores selling decorative items. clothing products and jewellery. The Jim Thompson shop on Suriwong Road is world-famous for its silk. River City has two floors specialising in art and antiques.
Patpong Nightmarket sells a wide selection of handicrafts, leather goods and immitation items. Pahurat Market is a small slice of India in Thailand and has a vast range of fabrics. Thieves Market in the heart of Chinatown, houses a number of 'antique' shops selling brassware and woodcarvings.
